I Shall Not Want - Audrey Assad

When I read today's "Our Daily Bread" I was really blessed by it and wanted to share it with you all.  I know we are all at different stages of life, but something we all need to know is God's Will.  I pray you are blessed!  You can read the Daily Bread each day at http://odb.org/

Devotion:

Bible reading Psalm 37:23-40  http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+37%3A23-40
We’re often looking for God’s will—especially when we’re in a difficult situation. We wonder, What will happen to me here? Should I stay or does God want me somewhere else? The only way to know for sure is to do what He asks you to do right now—the duty of the present moment—and wait for God to reveal the next step.
As you obey what you know, you will be strengthened to take the next step and the next. Step by step, one step at a time. That’s how we learn to walk with God.
But you say, “Suppose I take the first step. What will happen next?” That’s God’s business. Your task and mine is to obey this day and leave the future to Him. The psalmist says our steps are “ordered by the Lord” (37:23). This day’s direction is all we need. Tomorrow’s instruction is of no use to us at all. George MacDonald said, “We do not understand the next page of God’s lesson book; we see only the one before us. Nor shall we be allowed to turn the leaf until we have learned its lesson.”
If we concern ourselves with God’s will and obey each day the directions and warnings He gives, if we walk by faith and step out in the path of obedience, we will find that God will lead us through this day. As Jesus put it, “Tomorrow will worry about its own things” (Matt. 6:34).
God knows each winding way I take,
And every sorrow, pain, and ache;
His children He will not forsake—
He knows and loves His own. —Bosch
Blessed is the person who finds out which way God is moving and then goes in that direction.

Have Your Way - Britt Nicole

Hi Everyone!  I wanted to share this story with you of something that happened to me this month and I pray it is a blessing to you in some way.  Be assured that when you do what God says, He will bless you!
-Deborah

Right now there are so many thoughts running through my mind it is almost impossible to sort through them all.  The mixture of emotions that are within me are very difficult to separate.  I have happiness, but yet pain, joy, and yet fear.  You are probably wondering what has caused all of this.  Well, on July 5th while I was at work, someone came to my dad to ask if he could date me and get to know me better.  It was so exciting, I was happy, and felt very flattered.  But yet, I did not have peace about it.  I would have loved to just jump up and down and say “Yes!”, but that is not what God had in mind.  He showed my parents, and me, that the best thing to do was for us to remain friends at this time in our lives.
     It says in Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”  God has a perfect timing for everything, and this just wasn’t the right timing for a relationship between us.  This is not to say that it was an easy thing to do, it was really, really, hard.  I know though that God will be pleased because we followed His guidance and listened to His voice.
     Sometimes doing what God wants is very difficult.  We have our own ideas of how we think things should go, and we have our own plans.  Guess what? God has plans too! And you know what? His plans are so much better than ours.  “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9”
     I just want to encourage you that wherever you may be in your life to keep trusting God.  He has a plan for your life that is so amazing and wonderful we cannot even begin to comprehend it.
 Put your life in God’s hands, it’s the best place to be!

For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.

Psalm 84:11

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear,
neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee,
what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Isaiah 64:4

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

You Alone Can Rescue - Matt Redman

Bible Verses:

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Matthew 28:18-20

Devotion:

Happy Summer everyone!  It's hard to believe half of June is already over.  As summer is on its way I just wanted to encourage you all to be finding opportunities to share your faith in the things you do this summer. Whether you are at your job, on vacation, or just at home, you can share the love of Jesus with others! The next two weeks I will be counseling at a kids camp and I am so excited to be a good influence on the children that I work with there.  I encourage you to get involved somewhere this summer where you can minister to others.  You don't have to be on a mission trip somewhere far away, there are so many people right in your own community that are in need of a Savior.  So what are you waiting for? Get out and do it!

Love & Prayers,

Deborah Allyn

Sing of Your Glory - Bebo Norman

Hi Everyone!   This month I would like for the Word of God to speak to you as you read the following passage of Scripture.  Be Blessed!

Matthew 6:25-34

New King James Version (NKJV)

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Sister in Christ,
Deborah Allyn

Greatness of Our God - Natalie Grant

Devotion:

Hi Everyone! This month I want to share a testimony with you of what God is doing through the G.I.R.L. Newsletter!  As you may know, I have a blog website where I keep all of the G.I.R.L. issues so people can go back and read them again if they like.  A couple weeks ago I was on blogger and I noticed there was a comment waiting to be approved to be posted on my newsletter blog.  I clicked on it, and what I was about to see shocked me! The comment was from a pastor in Mumbai, India!!!  At first I was not sure if it was real, or if it was a spam or something, so I typed his name in to google and I was able to find out that he indeed was a pastor in India, and also the superintendent there for the Nazarene Church.  My blog is public, and to this day I do not know what he searched for to be able to find the G.I.R.L. Newsletter...all I have to say is GOD IS AMAZING!!  I just want to encourage you that even though you might not be seeing direct results from your ministry or the sharing of your faith, know that there is someone out there being touched and God is being glorified even though you may not see it!  If God can take a newsletter written by a girl in Minnesota and have someone read it over 8,000 miles away...He can do anything!  God is good!

Check out my blog here:  http://girlnewsletter.blogspot.com/

If you follow the blog you will  be notified when I post the newest newsletter.

Trusting in Jesus,

Help Me Find It - Sidewalk Prophets

This month I wanted to share with you some encouraging verses from the book of Psalms!
There are so many wonderful verses in Psalms, here are a few of my favorites.

I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I will call upon the Lordwho is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Psalms 18:1-3

Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Psalms 27:14

4I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
8Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
15Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
17The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.

Psalms 34: 4, 8, 15, 17

Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord
 our God.
Psalm 20:6-7
