Bible Verses of the Month: 2 Corinthians 2:15-16 For we are unto God a sweet savor of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one [we are] the savor of death unto death; and to the other the savor of life unto life. And who [is] sufficient for these things? Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Luke 14:34 Salt [is] good: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be seasoned? Eph. 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor. Devotion: This month I would like to talk about the kind of "smell" we are putting off, and no, I do not mean if you skip taking a shower! I am talking about how our actions are, and if we are showing the fruits of the spirit. In 2 Cor. 2:15-16 it talks about our "smell" being of death, or it being of life. If we act rude to our sibilings and parents, if we talk back, if we do not spend enough time with Jesus we will begin to "not smell good", and we certainly don't want that! To prevent from "smelling" we need to study the Bible and spend time with God so we do not become "dead". If we do not spend enough time with God we will become dead Christians. So, let us remember to be in the Bible spending time with God so we don't start to "smell"!! Keep your aroma sweet for Jesus!
