Devotion:
Do you know why you believe what you believe? I think too many times we as Christians just go along with what is tradition, and with what we are told, but we can not back up our beliefs with scripture.
Recently I have been filling out an application to be a Counselor at a Kids Camp and I have had to explain why I believe a certain way about certain issues, and then show why with Bible Verses. It has been really good for me, and I have really had to think about why I believe the way I do.
I encourage you to get in to your Bibles and study the Word. Dig in and read about the foundations of our faith, the virgin birth, the crucifixion/Resurrection, and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Don't just believe these things because your parents do, or those around you do, believe them because you have searched it out yourself and know that it is right.
If you hear a teaching that you think might not be right, pray about it and see what God says in His Holy Word. Let us be grounded in what we believe and not waver in our faith and love for the Lord!
