Take Me Over- Michael W. Smith

Bible Verses:

Search me, God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
    and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139: 23-24

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned , and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest , and be clear when thou judgest .
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity;and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean :wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice .

 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Psalm 51:1-12

Devotion:

With a new year just around the corner this is a perfect time to examine ourselves and seek to change those areas in our life which we need to work on.  As we read in the verses above David was asking God for forgiveness after the sin he committed with Bathsheba.  He was asking God to take the sin from his life, cleanse him, and wash him.  If we truly are in love with Jesus, we need to be willing to change our hearts, and take out of our life what displeases Him.  It doesn't matter if you've been a Christian for one day, or 30 years, there are always things that we need to work on.  I urge you to cry out to God today. Tell Him you love Him, tell Him you want to do what pleases and honors Him.  If you have never accepted Jesus in to your life, now is the time.  Now is the time to accept Him for the first time, or to recommit your life to Him. Don't say that you will do it tomorrow.  We are not guaranteed tomorrow, if we wait for tomorrow, it may be too late.

10,000 Reason (Bless the Lord)  ~ Matt Redman

wth5.gif - 3.9 K

I can hardly believe it has been 4 years this month since I started writing G.I.R.L. Newsletter.  It has grown so  much since then, and I am so thankful to the Lord for allowing me the opportunity to write to you all each month and share what He has placed on my heart.  If you know any ladies, young or old, who would like to receive G.I.R.L., please send me their email and I will be happy to add them on my mailing list.  You can email me at: musicgirl4jesus@gmail.com

Bible Verses:

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for goodBut if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evilTherefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due,customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. Romans 13:1-7

There are many plans in a man’s heart,
Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand. Proverbs 19:21

Amen!

Devotion:

This month was an election in our country. It has caused a varying array of emotions in people.  Some people in our country are happy and pleased with the choices they've made, while others are saddened at the decision of their fellow Americans.  We must remember that God has everything under control, and that He has a plan and a purpose we do not know.  Even though we have people in authority in our country who may not honor God, we have to remember that our Heavenly Father is really the one who is King, not an earthly man.  As long as the earthly authorities are not asking us to do something that contradicts our faith and the Bible, we are called to honor and respect them.  You are probably going, What on earth Deborah, how can I respect a leader who does not follow God or honor Him at all? Well, I'll tell you this, God will help us with the power of His Holy Spirit to respect them and to honor them.  He will give us the grace and strength to do so.  To close I will say this, Pray for our country's leaders, Pray for them to make right decisions, Pray that our country will repent and turn from their wicked ways.  The fervent prayer of a righteous man or woman avails much! (James 5:16)

Love & Prayers,

All I Have ~ Tim Dobbelman

Devotion:

"One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord;
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,

And to inquire in His temple.
Psalm 27:4"

What a beautiful Bible verse this is. It is telling us where our focus should be. There is only one thing which we should be desiring, and that is dwelling in the house of the Lord. He is our God and our Savior, but most of the time we treat Him like just another thing on our to-do list. Just someone else we have to talk to, not really a true friend in whom we confide. Our main desire should be God, not a fancy car, a high paying job, or even a college education. There is not anything wrong with having those things, but there is nothing that is more important than your relationship with Jesus Christ. When times get hard, it is not your money, your fancy house, or your Ford Mustang that's going to save you! Let us strive to seek the Lord each and every day, let us desire Him above the things this world has to offer, and let us dwell in His house all the days of our lives.
I would like to leave you with a closing verse.

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2"

Pure Bride - Leeland

Topic of the Month:

Bible Verses:

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you isholy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:14-16

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. Hebrews 12:13

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8

Devotion:

A topic that has been on my mind lately is that of purity and of holiness. The Lord has been teaching me that in order for us to come in to His presence we need to be living a life of purity, and striving to be perfect as He is. I know that none of us are perfect, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be seeking to live a life free from sin and that pleases God. We can not keep willfully sinning just because we know that God is going to forgive us. If we are saved then we need to turn from our sin and turn from the things that we know displease our Heavenly Father. Perhaps there are things in your life that you know are not honoring God, but you are still continuing to do them, those things will block your relationship with God. Only the pure in heart shall see God (Matthew 5:8). We can not be pure in our own works and on our own, but we are made righteous and pure when we have the Holy Spirit living in us and having accepted Christ in to our lives. Today let us examine our lives and remove what is hindering our relationship with God, and get back to living a life of purity and holiness! HE will be pleased when we do so.

Blessings to you,
Deborah Allyn

Give Me Faith

Bible Verses:

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13

Therefore, since Christ suffered for us[
a] in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime[b] in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. 4 In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. 5 They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. 1 Peter 4:1-6

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:17

Devotion:

Are you willing to stand up for what you believe in? We need to go against the flow of what every one else is doing! Are you willing to stand up for what you know and believe is right even when those around you are compromising what the Bible says? It is not an easy thing to do. In fact, it can be very hard. We may get made fun of, we may lose friends, and we may even have to leave something that we have been a part of for a long time. You may even have to stand up for a moral value among other Christians, and you may feel the heat from them. They may say you are too strict, or that you are being legalistic. If we compromise what we know is right, and what we know is written in God's word, then we are nothing more than a luke warm Christian. It says in Revelation 3:16 that God will spew the luke warm people out of His mouth. We need to take a stand! God will be pleased when we stand up for His values and His principles even if it means being unpopular and facing ridicule. He said He would never leave us or forsake us. Even when we have to take a stand and it is hard, He will be right there beside us through it all. He is faithful.

Love & Prayers,
Deborah Allyn

Waiting Here For You - Christy Nockels

Bible Verses:

Be still, and know that I am God...
Psalm 46:10

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Psalm 27:14

Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.
Psalm 33:20

Devotion:

The song this month talks about waiting on God. I think that this is such an important message for us all. It seems that too often we just want to surge ahead with our plans, and we want God to work in OUR timing, not His. What we really need to do is just be still, and quiet ourselves, and wait on Him. In the rush of everyday life we tend to get so caught up and forget to ever come before God and just spend time waiting on Him and being quiet in His presence. A lot of times we are the ones doing all the talking and we never give Him the opportunity to speak to us, by waiting on Him. He desires our friendship, He longs for us to spend time with Him. So let us slow down today from our busy lives and spend some time with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is waiting for you with open arms :)

One Thing Remains

May 2012 - Woman Praised - 1024 x 768

Bible Verses:

Here are some wonderful promises God has made to us in His Word:

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
Psalm 23:6

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Devotion:

This month I would like to talk a little bit about keeping promises and being a woman of your word. There are a lot of people in our society that say things or tell someone they will do something and then never do it. If you say you are going to do something, do it! Even though people may let us down, we never have to worry about God keeping His promises to us. He has many promises in His Holy Word and He will keep every single one of them. He has never let us down and Henever will. We need to do what we say. I have come to realize in my own life the importance of keeping promises because of how I feel when I am let down by others who do not. God will be honored by the life that we live if we learn to become women who are true to our word!

Wonderful, Merciful Savior ~ Kari Jobe

Hey Everyone! I thought this month I would share with you a Psalm that has recently blessed me. Have a wonderful rest of April! If you need some encouragement, this is the Psalm for you! :)

Psalm 63

New King James Version (NKJV)

Joy in the Fellowship of God

A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

63 O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You

In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.

3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
4 Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.

6 When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
7 Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
8 My soul follows close behind You;
Your right hand upholds me.

9 But those who seek my life, to destroy it,
Shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
10 They shall fall by the sword;
They shall be a portion for jackals.

11 But the king shall rejoice in God;
Everyone who swears by Him shall glory;
But the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.

Standing on the Word of God,

Surrender - Marc James

Bible Verses:

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Hebrews 10:26-27

If you love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:17

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

Devotion:

This month I would like to talk a little bit about compromise. I've been thinking about this some lately and thought it would be a good topic to share with you all. On this road of life we are faced with chances to compromise our faith every single day; whether it is the music we listen to, the people we associate with, or even our thoughts. I've seen examples of compromise in my own life, and in lives of those close to me. When we confess to be Christians, and when we say that we love God, we cannot live our lives with one foot in the world and one foot in Christianity. It doesn't work, and God will not accept it. We tend to live this life on the fence. We say, "Oh, it won't matter. It's not that big of a deal." It is a big deal! Every compromise we make takes us one step farther away from God, instead of bringing us closer to Him. When we are tempted to compromise what we know is right, we must fight that temptation with the word of God! The devil does not like to hear Jesus' name because there is power in it. Speak the name of Jesus and tell the devil that you are not going to compromise what you know is the right thing! I urge you today to stop your compromise, stop living for your own desires, and turn your life over to God. He will honor you for doing it. There is no greater feeling than knowing that you are pleasing the Lord by the choices you make. He deserves all of us, and He is calling us to stop our compromise!

Keeping the Faith,

Trust ~ Matt Hammit

Always ~ Kristian Stanfill

I couldn't decide between these two songs for this month's issue, so I decided to include them both!

Bible Verses:

This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. Psalm 34:6

The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. Psalm 34:15

I love the Lord, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. Psalm 116:1-2

Fear you not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1 John 5:14-15

Devotion:

There are times in our lives where it seems like we have been praying for something for so long that we just lose hope that God will ever answer, or if He even hears us. I have been going through that in my life lately. When it seems like God is quiet, and we don't think He is even listening, I can tell that you He is! It may feel like He is so far away, and that He doesn't even care, but He does. His timing to answer our prayers is not always ours. I know I have talked about prayer before, but I think we can all use a reminder once in awhile. Sometimes we say that God hasn't answered our prayers, when really He just answered them differently than how we would have liked Him to. We want Him to say "yes", but He says "no", or "wait." Don't be discouraged! God is listening! He hears your cries for help and He sees your tears. Nothing, nothing at all, is too hard for God. It says in Luke 18 verse 27, "And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." Have Faith! Don't give up! God is on your side and He hears you! His love for you is never ending, His mercy is unfailing, and He will hear His children's cries.

Peace To You,
Deborah Allyn
